Cape Town – Police in Mpumalanga reportedly arrested a 16-year-old mother after she allegedly confessed to killing and putting her two-week-old baby in a school bag.
Reports indicated that the grandmother of the baby woke up to find the baby missing and called the police when the baby’s mother wouldn’t speak when asked about the baby.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the grandmother noticed that the baby was missing in the early hours of June 2, reported IOL.
“She (grandmother) searched for her (baby) but couldn’t find her. She also asked the baby’s mother about the child’s whereabouts but she apparently refused to speak. The grandmother then reported the matter to police,” the report quoted Mohlala as saying.

She was then arrested and was expected to appear in court soon.
