Freetown – The head of coach of Sierra Leone’s women’s football team has been suspended over allegations of misconduct, the West African country’s football association said on Monday.
Abdulai Kaloga Bah has stepped aside pending investigations “regarding professional misconduct”, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) said in a statement.
SLFA spokesperson Ibrahim Kamara told AFP the association had “received several text messages and audio recordings from players” over alleged “harassment and intimidation”, without offering further details.
The football association said it has appointed Hassan Malik Mansaray as temporary coach of the national women’s squad.
