Cape Town – SA Rugby director Rassie Erasmus can now attend Springbok matches once again after he was banned by World Rugby in November last year.
Erasmus was banned from attending South Africa’s Tests matches this year after a video surfaced wherein he criticised the performance of Australian referee, Nic Berry, when the Springboks took on the British & Irish Lions last year.
The ban ended on September 30.
Despite the ban, Erasmus was still able to carry out most of his duties as SA’s Director of Rugby.
Erasmus will be looking to get back to being with the coaches and players on match day when the Boks embark on their end-of-year tour which includes Tests against Ireland, France, Italy, as well as England.
Springbok year-end tour fixtures:
Saturday, 5 November: South Africa v Ireland (Dublin – Aviva Stadium)
Thursday, 10 November: SA Select XV v Munster (venue TBA)
Saturday, 12 November: South Africa v France (Marseille – Stade Vélodrome)
Thursday, 17 November: SA Select XV v Bristol Bears (Bristol – Ashton Gate)
Saturday, 19 November: South Africa v Italy (Luigi Ferraris Stadium, Genoa)
Saturday, 26 November: South Africa v England (London – Twickenham)
In the Men’s World Rugby rankings, South Africa ranks 3rd with 89.00 points. They are right on the heels of France who has 89.41 points. Ireland ranks 1st with 90.03 points.
