Cape Town – IPL giants, Mumbai Indians have announced the appointment of former South African wicket keeper, Mark Boucher as their new head coach.

This comes after Boucher announced his retirement from being the head coach of the Proteas.
Boucher will relinquish his duties as head coach after the T20 World Cup in Australia this year.
He guided the Proteas to 11 Test wins, 12 ODI victories and 23 wins in T20I.
In a statement released by Mumbai Indians, owner of the franchise, Akash Mukesh Ambani, was full of praise for the club’s newly appointed head coach.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Mark Boucher to Mumbai Indians. With his proven expertise on the field and off it as a coach guiding his team to numerous victories, Mark will add immense value to MI and take forward its legacy.”
Meanwhile, Boucher said he saw the appointment as an honour.
“It is an honour and privilege to be appointed as Head Coach of MI. Their history and achievements as a franchise clearly put them up there as one of the most successful sporting franchises in all of world sport,” he said.
With all the expectations surrounding Mumbai Indians each campaign, Boucher welcomes the task,
“I look forward to the challenge and respect the need for results. It’s a strong unit with great leadership and players. I look forward to adding value to this dynamic unit.”
