Cape Town – Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta was awarded the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month while Manchester City’s talisman, Erling Haaland was voted EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month for August
After a flying start to their Premier League campaign, Arsenal ended August unbeaten, collecting three points from each of their first five matches.
The Spaniard became only the second Arsenal manager after Arsene Wenger to start a season with five straight Premier League victories. This is also the third time the 40-year-old has won the award. The Gunners currently top the Premier League with 15 points – one ahead of second placed Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland became the first player to win the Player of the Month award in his first month since Bruno Fernandes for rivals, Manchester United in 2020.
Making a dynamic start to his Premier League career with Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, the Norwegian has already broken a few records. He scored nine goals in his first five appearances which is the most in Premier League history. he is also just the sixth player to score hat-tricks in consecutive Premier League appearances.

And Newcastle United Winger, Allan Saint-Maximin, won the Budweiser Goal of the Month award for his delightful 90th minute volley that helped his club salvage a point against Wolves on August, 28.
According to a statement from the Premier League, Saint-Maximin said it was a nice goal and highlighted that this award is not an easy one to obtain, “It’s always very difficult to win this trophy so that’s why I’m very proud to get that trophy and also get a point for my team.”
