Johannesburg – HONOR is now the exclusive technology devices sponsor of the South African men’s senior national team.
This follows a partnership between the global technology brand and South African Football Association (SAFA).
“We are thrilled to team up with SAFA and Bafana Bafana at such an exciting time for both technology and sports,” said Fred Zhou, Chief Executive Officer at Honor South Africa.
Bafana Banafana is the nickname for the South Africa senior football national team.
Honor believes innovation should empower athletes, coaches, and fans alike.
“This partnership is a testament to the power of smart technology in optimising performance, recovery, and engagement both on and off the field,” Zhou said.
As part of this collaboration, Honor will leverage its expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), smart wearables and data-driven insights to support Bafana Bafana.
Honor’s advanced wearable technology will help monitor player fitness, track recovery and provide real-time analytics to enhance team performance.
“SAFA is excited to welcome Honor as our official technology device sponsor,” said SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan.
He pointed out football was evolving, and embracing technology in order to stay ahead in the game.
Jordaan said with Honor’s solutions, players and coaching staff would gain valuable insights that would contribute to Bafana Bafana’s success.
“This sponsorship represents a fusion of tradition and technology, bringing new possibilities for the team and fans alike,” Jordaan said.
