Cape Town – South Africa is celebrating its victory in the Rugby World Cup final against New Zealand, securing its fourth Webb Ellis Cup.
Faf de Klerk played a crucial role in the win.
After the game, he was seen in his signature South African flag-themed underwear, known as “broeks”. This attire had made him an internet sensation in 2019 after a previous World Cup win.
“I always play with it. There is no massive back-story. I just always play in a South African speedo when I play for the Springboks. I’ve probably played the last two years with it,” he revealed,” De Klerk said at the time, according to The Citizen.
In an unexpected encounter, tennis legend Roger Federer on Saturday congratulated De Klerk in the changing room, and a video of their exchange was shared on social media.
What’s a #RWC celebration without a customary Faf de Klerk speedo meet and greet 😂 #StrongerTogether pic.twitter.com/u5nvOgAfVS
