Cape Town — The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has announced the dismissal of its Mpumalanga leader, Mary Phadi, following allegations of involvement in an assassination plot.
In a statement, the MK Party said that Phadi was required to resign from the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature voluntarily. She did not comply, prompting a decision from party leader Jacob Zuma to revoke her membership immediately.
The party said her affiliation with the party was now terminated. The decision was based on several allegations, including the misappropriation of funds, bringing the organisation into disrepute, and non-compliance with leadership’s requests.
“Due to the gravity of these allegations, coupled with Mrs. Phadi’s inadequate responses, the leadership has made an irrevocable final decision to terminate her membership,” the party said.
Phadi was informed of the decision and all letters terminating her membership have been sent to the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature.
🔴 ZUMA FIRES ANOTHER MKP LEADER 🔴
Zuma has fired the loud hailing jingoist, Mary Phadi, from MK Party.
Zuma has come up with one of many excuses to fire her.
She will have no choice but to insult the MKP and lament, just like many before her.

According to The Citizen, Phadi had been under investigation for allegedly hiring hitmen to kill rival General Tough Mdluli, who reported receiving death threats and recordings discussing the plot.
Phadi is a prominent businesswoman and the president of the Truckers Association of South Africa.
Her dismissal from the party is one of a few among the many high-profile politicians who have joined the party, including Floyd Shivambu, Dali Mpofu and Busisiwe Mkhwebane, who left the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
