Ouagadougou – Envoys from the West African regional bloc Ecowas and the UN on Monday met Burkina Faso’s former president, who was ousted in a coup a week earlier, a member of their delegation said.
“Part of the delegation went to see former president (Roch Marc Christian) Kabore” who is under house arrest, the source said, speaking after the team met members of the junta who seized power on January 24.
Kabore’s wellbeing and demands for his release have been key issues since the coup, the latest bout of turmoil to strike the impoverished West African country.
