Cape Town – Leader of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party, Jacob Zuma, hs expressed confidence that his party will govern South Africa through a court decision.
At a press briefing announcing the MK party’s new leadership for KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and its 11 regions, Zuma said that the party is “here to stay” and is building a “serious organisation”.
Former KZN Premier Willies Mchunu retains his role as provincial leader, with Simphiwe Mpungose as the provincial organiser.
Zuma spokes about the MK party’s legal challenge against the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC), asserting that they believe they won the election and expect a favorable court ruling.
“I’m sure you realise that uMkhonto is changing South Africa into a new kind of leadership. You are going to see as we move,” Zuma said.
He added: “And we have disccused with comrades that this ledership is taken very seriously, and we are serious… all other things put together, we are an rganisation to watch. It is a serious organisation…
“We challenged those who were counting the voting because we believe we won, and we believe the courts are going to do the judgment, and that judgment must be fair to everybody.
“As you know, the case is about to start, and we’re sure that if the honesty is there, we’re going to see who is going to be running the country. This country is going to be run properly, with every respect that we have,” Zuma said.
He emphasised the MK party’s commitment to establishing proper governance and discipline.
