Cape Town — Many residents in Ekurhuleni believe that the Democratic Alliance (DA) is the party that will help rescue South Africa from the grips of the African National Congress (ANC).
The party was in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng as part of its Rescue SA Tour and many residents believed the DA was the right party to combat the country’s rising unemployment, Mondli Mqoboka says, SABC News reported.
Two residents, Mondli Mqoboka and Brandon Niewenhuys, gave their opinion on the problems in the municipality and what’s needed for change.
“We want change in this country. There’s too much unemployment. Even the hospitals are not in a good condition and there are potholes in the streets,” Mqoboka said.
‘There is corruption in government and the unemployment rate. I am voting for the DA to bring about the change.” Niewenhuys added.
During his address, DA leader, John Steenhuisen, described the City of Ekurhuleni as ground zero of what the party terms is a doomsday coalition between the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the African National Congress (ANC). The municipality is currently governed by the an ANC -EFF coalition.
Thank you to the people of Ekurhuleni for coming out in their numbers to show support for the DA’s Rescue SA

“Due to the gross mismanagement of the EFF looters, the city also lost its clean audit during the very first year under the Doomsday Coalition,” @jsteenhuisen. pic.twitter.com/GOSc7mxie8
