Cape Town – Police Minister Bheki Cele has accepted his exclusion from the ANC’s parliamentary list, acknowledging that “there is an end to everything”.
“When I came out of my mother’s womb, I was never a minister… when I grew up, I never thought I would be a minister one day…. what’s wrong with going back as Bheki Cele and be an ordinary South African?… Once there is a start, there is an end,” Cele told eNCA.

He attributed his rise to his dedication and hard work, rather than ambition. He said that his journey from police commissioner to minister was proof of his efforts.
Cele and International Relations Minister Naledi Pandor are some of the ministers who are not on the ANC’s parliamentary list after the party’s 17-point drop in the recent elections.
