Cape Town – Secretary-general of the UMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party Floyd Shivambu has praised former president Jacob Zuma for founding the party, calling it a bold decision.
Speaking at the MK Party’s gala dinner in Durban, which aimed to attract investment, Shivambu acknowledged Zuma’s courage in starting the political organisation, especially after having served with his previous organisation for over 60 years.
“I want us on this day, the 16 of December 2024 to use this opportunity to appreciate and give a round of applause to President Zuma for having founded uMkhonto weSizwe Party,” said Shivambu.
Shivambu revealed that Zuma’s move inspired him to leave the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and join the new party.
