Cape Town – Former president Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane Zuma has been hard at work, cleaning up the streets of Newlands in Durban.
In a videoclip shared on social media, the newly elected ward 11 chairperson rolled up his sleeves and helped clean up Newlands on an overcast and rainy day.
Duduzane can be seen clearing up the Conger to Katonkel 100 steps pathway with a shovel as a wheelbarrow full of piled dirt is next to him.
“No excuses, no long stories. Sunshine or rain. We get the job done. A lot of people like talking but very few can do. It’s all about action. Take a look around. When you’re in you’re ‘hood you don’t see anybody, but it’s alright though. We continue,” he says as he bends down with a shovel to clear the pathway.

According to TimesLive his father, Jacob Zuma has thrown his full weight behind his son’s political ambitions of campaigning to be the next ruling party’s president.
“I feel proud. We all started there, but we ended up somewhere,” Zuma was quoted as saying recently.
“The politics are important. Take the interests of branch members, supporters and the community in your area. It is a challenge and an important achievement you have made,” he told his son.
In another clip shared on Instagram Duduzane can be seen donned in a black plastic bag to shield against the rain as he, together with some youths, continue clearing up the pathway.

Towards the end, the clip shows the finished product with the words “to be continued..” scribbled on the screen.
In an interview with Power98.7 last year, Duduzane said his presidential bid was more than a dream, despite his lack of experience in politics.
“It is less of a dream but more of conversations. I think over a period of time we all have these conversations about how we get involved in making a difference,” he said.
Duduzane said that he had been a businessman his whole life and politics was still a new territory for him.
“I’ve followed it, I have understood it and was a part of it,” he said.
