Cape Town — President Cyril Ramaphosa has taken a swipe at former president, Jacob Zuma, and the uMkhonto weSizwe party (MK) ahead of the upcoming elections.
Ramaphosa was speaking on Sunday at an African National Congress (ANC) campaign trail in Isiphingo in Ethekwini as the party looks to secure enough voter support in the province to ensure the party emerges victorious, ahead of the EFF, IFP and the MK Party, who are expected to be the leading contenders in the province.
According to SABC News, Ramaphosa’s comments came after suggestions that support for the ANC will drop again in the province as was the case in the 2019 national elections.
“Comrades, thank you for working hard on our campaign and taking it to this level. Because KZN is fertile and it’s clear that other parties like these new parties like the MK what, what will not get any votes because KZN people show that they love the ANC,” he said.
