Cape Town – Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has slammed undocumented foreign nationals, saying that South Africa is the only sovereign country in the world where “rascals” who have committed serious crimes in their countries of birth are welcome.
Motsoaledi said this in a video that has since gone viral on social media where, according to Times Live, he was addressing an ANC regional conference in the Eastern Cape.
“We are the only country that accepts rascals. Even the United Nations (UN) is angry with us that SA has a tendency, because of something called democracy, to accept all the rascals of the world. When people do wrong things in their countries, they run here.
“And we must keep on keeping quiet for fear about the word xenophobia. This must change, comrades. We can no longer allow our country to be the stomping ground for all the rascals and low-lives of the world running here and using our democracy, said Motsoaledi in a video.

Motsoaledi’s department recently fined Zimbabwe’s Rimbi Travel and Tours Bus Service over R400 000 after one of its buses attempted to enter South Africa with passengers who did not have passports.
The bus arrived at the Beitbridge Border Post with 28 passengers who did not have passports, according to a department statement.
The bus service was fined R420 000 for breach of the Immigration Act.

Motsoaledi warned that anybody who did not respect the country’s immigration laws would face due consequences.
“Immigration laws of the Republic apply to everyone equally,” he said.
He also urged ANC branch members to support the governing party’s firm policy position on immigration at the party’s national policy conference in June, Times Live reported.
