Cape Town – Former ANC president Thabo Mbeki has reflected on the late Tito Mboweni’s potential contributions to addressing the current challenges facing the party.
Mboweni, who passed away last week at 65, was described by Mbeki as an honest and straightforward individual.
In an interview with SABC News, Mbeki acknowledged that the tensions within the Government of National Unity (GNU) are a natural outcome of differing perspectives among members regarding the party’s direction after recent electoral losses.
He said that Mboweni’s experience within the movement could have aided in navigating these differences and fostering a common agreement among party members.
