Cape Town – Former uMkhonto we Sizwe commander and ANC treasurer-general Mathews Phosa has issued a stern warning to the ANC about its declining electoral support due to unresolved corruption allegations.
Speaking on Power to Truth with JJ Tabane, Phosa highlighted findings from the Zondo Commission that implicated 97 ANC leaders, alongside an Auditor-General report revealing R214 billion stolen at the local government level.
“The task of the government is to show us the (new) dawn by arresting those who have stolen the money (that belongs to) the public,” he said.

He criticised the lack of visible action from the NPA, SIU, and other prosecutorial bodies in addressing these issues, which has eroded public confidence.
“The NPA (National Prosecuting Authority), SIU (Special Investigating Unit) and other prosecutorial arms of the government should investigate the serious allegations in the Zondo report and find out if these are true.
“Each one of them needs to be investigated and prosecuted, and we must see these guys going to jail…we are not seeing this,” Phosa said.
