Cilliers Brink was removed as Mayor of Tshwane following a motion of no confidence on Thursday, ending his 18-month term.
The motion passed with 120 councillors voting in favour, 87 against, and one abstention, leaving the capital city without a mayor.
Cape Town – Political parties in the City of Tshwane are preparing to vote on a no-confidence motion against Mayor Cilliers Brink.
ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba announced that the party will either support the ANC-sponsored motion or abstain from voting, following their departure from the DA-led multiparty government last week.
The DA has called ActionSA’s decision “the final betrayal,” while some ANC members believe national leaders favor stability with the DA.
