Cape Town – A video showing former president Jacob Zuma’s son, Duduzane, cleaning up a neighbourhood in Newlands East, Durban has gone viral on social media.
In the video, Duduzane is seen hard at work – pushing a wheelbarrow full of dirt, cutting grass using a brush cutter, and sweeping the streets with some young boys.

“The basic message is respect your doorstep. Respect your backyard. Clean up your backyard and respect your neighbour,” Duduzane says in another video.

Duduzane, who has an ambition to be president of South Africa, was recently elected as the chairperson of the ANC’s branch in Newlands East, Durban.
This was after he admitted during an interview with Power98.7 that he was new to the world of politics but believed he had “something to offer” and that he could have what South Africa needed.
“I feel like I have something to offer.
“It is just taking politics from an old man and woman’s game and changing it to a young man and woman’s game,” Duduzane was quoted as saying, according to The Citizen.
He said he wanted to help South Africa move forward.

“I don’t want to be that guy that has an opportunity to make a difference and doesn’t take it,” he said.
Soon after he was elected as branch chairperson, his father congratulated him, saying this was “absolutely an important thing”.
“It’s always important to make the branch make the difference within the organisation itself and secondly within the community where you are, to be able to serve the community and therefore give that kind of leadership.

“So congratulations very much for being elected chairperson of the branch, and I feel proud. We all started there. We all started there, but we ended up somewhere, but we all started there,” said Zuma.
