Cape Town – Floyd Shivambu, the deputy president of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has announced his resignation from the party during a press briefing at the EFF headquarters in Johannesburg.
Shivambu, joined by Julius Malema and other EFF leaders, read his resignation letter and announced that he will be joining the MK Party.
This move comes amid significant challenges for the EFF, which has been struggling since the recent national and provincial elections in May.
The formation of Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has further impacted the EFF, dropping it to the fourth most popular party in South Africa.
