Cape Town – Former EFF deputy leader Floyd Shivambu has dismissed accusations from Julius Malema that he betrayed the party by joining the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
In a media briefing in Sandton, Shivambu, now the MK Party’s national organiser, denied any betrayal and expressed confidence in his decision to join a party committed to reversing the effects of apartheid.
“Some people were saying ‘you are betraying me’… where does that enter? You don’t even suggest that I’m betraying the revolution. I’ll never betray the revolution because we are not in the business of trying to please each other egos.

“We are in the business of building a revolutionary movement that is going to emancipate the black majority, and Africans in particular, and we are unapologetic about that. That is what we stand for,” he said.
Shivambu’s new role involves policy development, branch establishment, and political education.
He emphasised that he’s not concerned with pleasing politicians’ egos and remains focused on his work with the MK Party.
