Cape Town – Expelled leader Jabulani Khumalo has responded to allegations of becoming wealthy since launching the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party.
According to The Citizen, it was claimed that Khumalo owned multiple cars and homes in Durban, which he had not disclosed to the party.
The MK party questioned his sudden lifestyle change and trips to Dubai and Japan.
The report said that party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela said the relationship between the party and Khumalo was irreparable. Ndhlela urged Khumalo to explain to South Africa how he amassed his wealth so quickly, including who financed his trips to Dubai and how he ended up in Japan.
However, in a social media clip, Khumalo clarified that a Land Cruiser he was driving was a gift from his family to accommodate his security needs.
“My family said there is no way that you can go with one car and six people, you need two more cars. My family did a gala dinner and they said they want to present me with something,” Khumalo said during an Affirmation SA interview.

He said that the car was still being paid for and that he had also received a bakkie from another relative.
Additionally, he said that former president Jacob Zuma had given him a Fortuna.
Khumalo denied owning a Lexus and refuted claims that David Mabuza had bought him BMWs.
“They also said I had bought a Lexus and I do not have a Lexus. They said Didi (David Mabuza) had bought me two X3’s and one X5 that is not true,” he said.
