Cape Town – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has reportedly given the South African Police Service (SAPS) seven days to arrest Operation Dudula leader Nhlanhla “Lux” Dlamini.
Dudula is a word in the Zulu language which loosely means to “push back” or “drive back.
The Operation Dudula movement consists of scores of protesters who have been staging demonstrations against undocumented foreign nationals and those who sell illegal drugs.
Its leader Dlamini, a man in his thirties from Soweto who often dresses in a military uniform and bullet-proof vest, says he is simply seeking to “restore law and order”.
“The law enforcement is failing us,” he told reporters recently.

On Sunday members of the movement raided a 59-year-old Victor Ramerafe’s house and demanded that he bring out drugs on the premises, according to IOL.
“They did not have a search warrant, they searched and left my house in a messy condition, I have lost my R300 and a small Nokia cellphone. I do not sell drugs,” said Ramerafe.
Watch the video below as Ramerafe speaks about the events that occurred when Operation Dudula came to his house:

When the EFF learnt about this incident, party members accompanied Ramerafe to open a case against the movement’s leader on Wednesday.
“The only organisation that exists for poor people is EFF. This toy-soldier (Lux) because he is a coward has decided to attack the vulnerable and those who cannot defend themselves in order to push his own agenda, which is sponsored by his white funders who are sustaining his lifestyle here.
“He is not from Soweto, the funders bought him a house in Soweto because they wanted to disrupt the progress of the EFF in Soweto and create a parallel alternative that is going to make us fight among each other as black people, and not fight the system,” said EFF national spokesperson Sinawo Thambo.

Police confirmed that a case of housebreaking had been opened by the victim and the docket had been handed over to the provincial SAPS for further investigations.
