Cape Town – Former Democratic Alliance (DA) leader, Mmusi Maimane, has launched a new political party, Build One SA (BOSA), aimed at working for South Africans.
The party was launched in Soweto on Saturday.
Maimane promised to bring change, as he spoke about the issue of unemployment, high cost of living, load shedding and crime.
“Our nation is failing, it is broken…this has to change. We have to move away from an economy that works for a few, to one that works for everybody.
“There are people sitting at home saying they are the forgotten. I want to say to them Build One SA sees you.
“It is aware that you have no water, electricity and you are suffering, you are unemployed. I am here to tell you there is hope and we as BOSA will deliver that change for the people of this country,” The Citizen quoted Maimane as saying.
Maimane confirmed earlier this week that he was going to be back on the ballot paper in the 2024 elections.
This would be the first time Maimane will compete in an election since he resigned from being the DA leader in 2019.
