Cape Town – Chaos broke out at a press conference addressed by suspended COPE president Mosiuoa “Terror” Lekota on Wednesday in Boksburg.
Videos circulating on social media showed party members physically attacking each other.
According to eNCA, disgruntled members arrived at the briefing and demanded that party Lekota not deliver the address.
The members said Lekota had no right to address the party.

Reports indicated on Monday that COPE’s national committee had suspended Lekota, with “immediate effect”.
A statement released by the party accused Mosiuoa of sowing divisions and corruption.
The announcement came amid mounting pressure for Lekota to step down as party leader.
