Cape Town – Build One South Africa (BOSA) says it remains open to joining the Government of National Unity (GNU) as it engages with the ANC’s negotiation team.
BOSA leader Mmusi Maimane emphasised the need for a clearer agenda in the GNU’s statement of intent, highlighting that his party has not yet committed due to perceived shortcomings in the current statement.
Build One South Africa says it will continue to work towards a plan that benefits all South Africans. The party met with ANC leaders, to consider how a coalition government will work at a national level. “We believe inherently that we need a plan to foreground any government – that it cannot be the patronage of politicians, but rather the focus on policy that delivers for the people, the 60 million South Africans,” Maimane said.
Maimane called for a policy-focused approach that benefits all South Africans, outlining BOSA’s non-negotiable priorities, including education reform, crime eradication, zero tolerance for corruption, job creation through a mixed economy, and justice and redress.
He described the meeting with the ANC as productive.
