Mbalula emphasized the ANC’s commitment to the Government of National Unity (GNU) despite losing its majority in the recent elections, securing just over 40% of the national vote.
The ANC has been in discussions with 17 parties about forming coalitions.
However, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), led by Julius Malema, rejected the GNU, saying they could not collaborate with parties funded by the Oppenheimer family and did not intend to ally with the Democratic Alliance (DA).
