Cape Town — Following his resignation from the DA, Tsepo Mhlongo has been announced as the newest member of Herman Mashaba’s ActionSA.
Mhlongo joins the political party just days after his resignation from the DA for comments he made towards party leader, John Steenhuisen.
He announced his expulsion from the DA on Tuesday, saying it was expected in some quarters, after he accused the DA leaders of underhanded applications of principles of fairness and justice.
Announcing Mhlongo’s addition to the party, ActionSA took to their X account, who was also welcomed by the party leader Herman Mashaba.
“I today I joined voluntary as an activists for @ActionSA I would like to continue the journey I started 25 years ago to fight to remove @ANC in government I’m joining as an ordinary member I’m not here for position I’m here to finished what I’ve started 25 years @HermanMashaba,” Mhlongo wrote on his X account.

According to EWN, Herman Mashaba’s unapologetic appetite to take talent away from the DA continues to be rewarded.
While some claim this makes Mashaba’s party a DA-lite, Mhlongo said those views were irrelevant. He insists the two parties have completely different offerings, although most of Mashaba’s leadership collective hails from the DA.
“ActionSA is not a DA-lite, it’s not that. I’ve checked their policy and I believe those policies are different from those of the DA,” he said
Mhlongo said he joined ActionSA beause he believes they show commitment to the ideals that underpin the spirit of UBuntu, reported by IOL.
“The commitment that Nelson Mandela embedded in our minds as young people and the many people of our country who have sacrificed their lives for these sacrosanct ethos. There is one structure that I believe and truly feel is for these ideals. The very same principles that will take our country forward,” he said.
