Cape Town – The Democratic Alliance (DA) has elected Tertuis Simmers as its leader in the Western Cape, a position crucial as the party prepares for the 2024 elections.
Simmers, the infrastructure MEC, won against Bonginkosi Madikizela at the party’s provincial congress in Cape Town.

The DA, currently the leading party in the Western Cape, aims to dislodge the African National Congress (ANC) from power in three provinces in 2024, with the Western Cape being key.
