Cape Town – Former president Jacob Zuma’s daughter Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla left Twitter abuzz this week after she referred to President Cyril Ramaphosa as “Mampara of the Year”.
Zuma-Sambudla took to her Twitter account on Wednesday and posted a snap of Ramaphosa, which she captioned: “I Think We Can Already Handout “Mampara Of The Year” To #MfanaKeMfana.”

According to Times Live, “Mampara of the week” is a popular feature in the Sunday Times that takes aim at politicians and public figures who have dominated the news during the week for the wrong reasons.
Readers of the paper crowned suspended ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule Mampara of the Year in 2021.
Zuma-Sambudla’s attack on Ramaphosa comes as the Parliament’s standing committee on public accounts (Scopa) has given him seven to ten days to reply to its letter regarding a leaked audio recording of an ANC NEC meeting that suggested state funds were misused for an internal party campaign.

In the audio, Ramaphosa seems to admit to being aware of certain individuals within the party who were using public funds to further advance their political campaigns.
He can be heard saying that he is “willing to fall on the sword” to protect the ANC rather than reveal the party members’ names because he is concerned about the image of the party.
According to The Citizen, ANC’s head of the presidency Sibongile Beni confirmed the authenticity of the leaked audio but denied suggestions that Ramaphosa was attempting to shield party members by covering up information on corruption.
“What is critical here is that at the heart of that audio clip is that the focus at that stage was CR17 funds, which were being ventilated in the courts of law.
“So the president was explaining that he prefers that there should be a focus on the CR17 funds, than bringing other issues or other counter-accusations because, if he did so, it would be as if he is diverting the attention of the issue of CR17 funds,” the report quoted Beni as saying.
Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla has never been shy about her disdain for Ramaphosa, one of her father’s political adversaries, The South African reported.
