Cape Town – President Cyril Ramaphosa’s spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya, has said that the announcement of the election date will be made within the next 15 days.
Magwenya said this during a media briefing in Cape Town before the State of the Nation Address (Sona), which Ramaphosa is set to deliver at Cape Town City Hall on Thursday.

Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula confirmed that preparations for the State of the Nation Address are on track.
The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) revealed that 27.4 million voters have been registered ahead of the upcoming elections.
