Cape Town — ANC secretary general Fikile Mbalula says President Cyril Ramaphosa has not offered to mediate the multi-million rand debt dispute between the ruling party and Ezulweni Investments.
Reports indicate that the printing and marketing company is being owed over R100 million by the ANC for producing banners during the 2019 elections.
The ANC has taken the matter to the Constitutional Court after facing defeats in both the Gauteng High Court and the Supreme Court of Appeal.
Last week, the sheriff of the court visited the ANC’s Luthuli House headquarters to seize its assets.
The investment company recently granted the ANC an extension until 12 December before proceeding with the liquidation against them. Following this extension, initial reports suggested that Ramphosa would step in to mediate the current situation and handle it himself.
“He told us that he wants to review the evidence we have and what was presented in the courts,” a NWC insider said at the time.
However, Mbalula said that, despite Ramaphosa showing an interest in the matter, it is being handled by the party’s legal team, EWN reported.

“There are many means at our disposal to handle this particular issue, [the] legal path is one of them and the out-of-court settlement is equally the one option the ANC is exploring. There is nobody who has come to the secretary-general of the ANC and offered themselves to mediate,” Mbalula said.
