Cape Town – President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Senzo Mchunu, the Minister of Water Affairs and Sanitation, as Acting Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform, and Rural Development.
“The appointment, which takes effect immediately, follows the election by the National Assembly of Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Thoko Didiza as Speaker of the National Assembly,” the Presidency statement read.
Didiza, a member of the African National Congress (ANC), assumed the role of Speaker during the first sitting of Parliament at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Friday.
She pledged to uphold parliamentary debates under the rule of law and ensure fairness, aiming to reflect the will of the South African people.
