Cape Town — Spokesperson in the Presidency, Vincent Magwenya, said the Presidency did not receive any documents calling for the removal of Deputy President, Paul Mashatile.
The DA allegedly handed over a series of documents with evidence alluding to corruption against Mashatile but Magwenya refuted the DA’s accusations and said no such document has been handed over the President’s desk, EWN reported.
“There’s no dossier that’s been handed to the President by the DA or Steenhuisen. Any organisation or individual that has information on criminality or wrong doing must submit that information to the policek,” Magwenya said on X.

Several media reports have surfaced – implicating Mashatile in corruption during his time as Human Settlements MEC in Gauteng. The official opposition is calling for an immediate investigation into Mashatile’s alleged dodgy dealings.
In a DA statement, Steenhuisen feels Ramaphosa has no interest in dealing with the allegations against Mashatile.
“Given that President Ramaphosa has, to this day, failed to act against Mashatile by firing him from his executive post and subjecting him to a thorough investigation by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU), it is clear that President Ramaphosa has absolutely no will to address this scandal within his government,” they said.
Furthermore, Steenhuisen said the deputy president engaged in a web of corruption and state capture spanning almost two decades – behaviour that has become commonplace under the ANC.
Steenhuisen then called on Ramaphosa to announce the crucial removal of Mashatile from office during his State of the Nation Address (SONA), and failing so, the DA will lay criminal charges against him, using the information collated in the dossier of which President Ramaphosa is now in possession. They called for immediate investigation and prosecution, and they will file an Executive Members’ Ethics Act complaint against Mashatile for his violation of the Executive Ethics Code.
