Cape Town – uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela has confirmed that he will resign from Parliament to focus on his new role as the party’s full-time national spokesperson.
MK party leader Jacob Zuma appointed Ndhlela to this position, along with a seat on the party’s top eight and national high command.
According to The Citizen, Ndhlela said that he believes his efforts will be more beneficial to the party, especially as it prepares for the 2026 elections.
“The party needs me and we’re going into elections effective for 2026, so I cannot afford to have a situation where we as a leadership are going to be slacking in areas where we should be putting our utmost attention and energy towards.
MK Party Seasoned Spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela will not be returning to parliament in January.
Last week Nhlamulo was appointed as a fultime MK Party Spokesperson serving in the top 8 .

“I believe my efforts will be more beneficial to the party than in Parliament. I’ve set up the structures in Parliament…I was the whip for media and communications,” the report quoted Ndhlela as saying.
Ndhlela was initially appointed interim spokesperson in December 2023, and the MK party has gained significant traction, particularly in KwaZulu-Natal, where it outperformed the ANC in recent elections.
