Cape Town – African Congress for Transformation (ACT) president Ace Magashule has announced that his party will support the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at the ACT manifesto launch in Evaton, Magashule said that since ACT won’t be on the ballot, they will back former president Jacob Zuma’s MK Party, expecting reciprocal support at the national level.
“We’ve accepted that and so we are moving on, and that’s why because we are not there, we think MK is very strong in KwaZulu-Natal and we are asking for people to vote for them in terms of the provincial ballot,” EWN quoted Magashule as saying.
Magashule urged KwaZulu-Natal supporters to vote for the MK Party, highlighting logistical challenges that delayed the ACT launch, coinciding with Zuma’s manifesto event.

Magashule, expelled from the ANC, founded ACT in 2023.
Zuma, who recently rallied thousands in Soweto, also founded the MK Party.
The former president was recently slammed by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Gauteng premier candidate, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, who hit out at him, saying he had had his chance in government.
In a passionate rant, Ndlozi said Zuma’s time has come and gone.
“You had your chance, Zuma, you had you chance. For 20 years, Zuma was in government as a deputy president, as a MEC, as a president of this country. What is Jacob Zuma going to do that he did not do when he was a president?,” Ndlozi said.

According to TimesLIVE, Zuma aims to return to government after serving as South Africa’s president from 2009 to 2018.
He has promised radical changes if re-elected, including criminalising same-sex relationships, which he referred to as a disgrace.
