Cape Town – Twitter never runs out of ideas of creating its own memes, especially when it comes to South African celebrities and politicians.
This time, it seems that the joke fell on former finance minister Tito Mboweni, who is quite known on the Twitter streets for flexing his culinary skills with his dishes.
Mboweni took to Twitter recently, seemingly angry over a “chubby” meme of himself – with extra added weight. The picture was photoshopped to make him look more like a South African version of America’s Nutty Professor.
“Photoshopping people’s pictures, distorting them should be illegal! This is not me,” said the former minister.

However, his clap back at the photo drew more memes of him on Twitter, with some tweeps even dragging his cooking skills.
Low and behold, Mboweni later shared a photoshopped picture of himself with a juxtaposed picture of president Cyril Ramaphosa, seemingly cracking a joke about it.
“In difficult and challenging times, it is good to have a moment of laughter!! Who is who here?” he captioned the picture with laughing emojis.
