Cape Town – International Relations and Cooperation Minister Ronald Lamola and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the relationship between South Africa and the United States.
“This happened during the courtesy call Minister Lamola received from Secretary Blinken congratulating him on his appointment,” the statement released by the department said.

“Both Minister Lamola and Secretary Blinken reiterated their commitment to expanding bilateral relations between our nations as well as global peace and security,” the department said.
Blinken also recently expressed appreciation to former Minister Naledi Pandor for her collaboration on various global and bilateral issues.
“He expressed appreciation for their collaboration during her tenure, which included working together on global peace and security, expanding bilateral trade, advancing shared health goals, and supporting renewable energy sources to address climate change and provide reliable power,” the statement said
