Durban — Newly-elected Kwa-Zulu Natal (KZN) Premier, Thami Ntuli, announced the 10 members of his executive that will lead the province in the new Government of National Unity (GNU).
Ntuli was elected Premier last week by a coalition comprised of his Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), the Democratic Alliance (DA), African National Congress (ANC) and the National Freedom Party (NFP).
He was sworn in today and announced the members of the executive to lead portfolios, giving the party that received the most votes, the most positions, TimesLIVE reported.
The IFP has four portfolios (Economic development, Cogta, Agriculture, Sports, Arts & Culture), the ANC will lead three (Health, Transport and Ecucation), the DA has two (Finance and Public Works) and the NFP has just one (Social Development).

According to SABC News, Ntuli called on his new cabinet members to to put their differences aside and to put the people of KZN first. He made a plea, asking them to serve with dignity.
“I appreciate that we come from different political homes and we campaigned with different manifestos, however, now is the time to put the people of KZN first. All of us are expected to serve with honesty, dignity and diligence.” Ntuli said.
“We must never betray the people of the province that voted for us, there will be a process that ensures that we monitor and evaluate the performance of every member of the executive. We will respect all ideas and contributions that seek to promote and uplift our province.” he added.
