Cape Town – Long queues and technical glitches have reportedly plagued Home Affairs offices as people seek temporary IDs to vote.
According to EWN, on Monday, offices in Randburg, Johannesburg CBD, and Edenvale experienced long waits and system failures.
Home Affairs said it will extend its operating hours until 7pm this week to accommodate voters who need new IDs ahead of the elections.

With the general elections set to take place on Wednesday 29 May, there are still some citizens who need to get their IDs in order to vote.
The department said it would allow individuals who need to apply for and collect temporary identity documents from the department, to do so.
