Cape Town – Former ANC mayor Vusi Motha has reportedly left the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to join the recently formed uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party, a move reportedly driven by his loyalty to Jacob Zuma.
According to The Citizen, despite being announced as an EFF member in November, Motha denied membership, claiming to be a supporter.
“I am Zuma, and Zuma is us,” Motha said, according to CityPress.
He is not the only one who has publicly declared support for the MK Party. On Friday, the All African Alliance Movement (AAAM) officially backed the MK Party for the upcoming elections.
With the aspiration of securing a two-thirds majority, AAAM expressed its commitment to supporting this Zuma-backed organisation.

Speaking at an event in Soweto, Johannesburg, AAAM General Secretary Bishop Meshack Thebe urged supporters to cast their votes in favor of the MK Party.
“In order for us to achieve a two-thirds majority, come let us join forces…and vote for uMkhonto WeSizwe Party,” The Citizen quoted Thebe as saying.
Zuma, campaigning for the MK Party, criticised the ANC, saying that the government doesn’t address the needs of South Africans and urging a change in leadership within the party.
