Cape Town – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) launched its political manifesto in the Western Cape with Julius Malema promising big changes within the province should the party emerge victorious.
The EFF launched political manifestos in seven provinces (excluding KZN and Limpopo) with the Western Cape its final stop as the party gears up for the upcoming national and provincial elections. In an EFF statement, the party said its goal for the Western Cape was to help communities who suffer at the hands of criminals who extort them.
“The EFF committed to the people of the Western Cape that the land will be returned to them, and that the province will no longer be a haven for gangsterism under an EFF government,” it said.

Among the key issues Malema addressed included gangsterism, land ownership, provincial corruption, and the taxi industry. He confidently claimed the party will show support to everyone to reduce or prevent those issues from getting worse.
“In this province, gangsterism is the order of the day. Today, the criminals are going house-to-house collecting money calling it protection fee and JP Smith doesn’t speak about the crime that is happening in the townships,” SABC News reported Malema saying.
“Because they are now embedded with criminal activities that are happening in this province. Once we get the police force right, then you know that police are not in bed with criminals. And police must deal decisively with dangerous criminals.” he added.
