Cape Town – UMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party MP Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla is set to stand trial in the Durban High Court on Thursday for her alleged role in the 2021 July unrest.
She faces charges of incitement to commit terrorism and two counts of incitement to commit public violence.
The State accuses her of instigating the looting and destruction during the unrest, citing her social media posts that allegedly called for a shutdown in KwaZulu-Natal and other disruptive actions.
Prosecutors argue her statements contributed to nationwide violence.
However, the MK Party dismisses the case as a political witch-hunt.
