Cape Town – The Democratic Alliance (DA) has announced its plan to file criminal charges of corruption against Deputy President Paul Mashatile.
According to SABC, following media reports implicating Paul Mashatile in alleged corruption during his time as the MEC for human settlements in Gauteng, the charges are scheduled to be lodged at the Cape Town Central Police Station in the Western Cape.
The DA had previously submitted a corruption dossier to President Cyril Ramaphosa, urging Mashatile’s removal.
President Ramaphosa must fire Paul Mashatile. Failure to act against his deputy over acts of corruption and capture betrays his promises to the Zondo Commission. While Ramaphosa cowers, the DA is set to take action against Mashatile’s state capture 2.0. https://t.co/Vkbzymq0jS

But according to EWN, the Presidency responded at the time, saying that any information regarding criminal activity should be reported to the police and not directed to the president’s office.
