Cape Town — Corruption-accused minister, Zizi Kodwa, will be making a return to Parliament and will be staying on as a Member of Parliament (MP) after he missed the swearing-in ceremony last week.
Kodwa is set to be sworn in next week by newly-appointed speaker, Thoko Didiza, when she swears in the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) MPs who also missed the first sitting, according to EWN.
He confirmed that he has registered as an MP and is set to stay on as an ordinary backbencher in Parliament after he severed as a minister and deputy during the 6th administration.
Kodwa, who resigned amid corruption charges, appeared in court for allegedly taking bribes from a state supplier. He appeared in court earlier this month alongside his co-accused, former EOH boss Jehan Mackay over corruption worth R1.7 million. The pair were granted bail of R30 000 each.
