Johannesburg – The African Transformation Movement (ATM) has promised free healthcare, free public education and a transformation of the economy should it be elected at this year’s general elections.
The party. led by Vuyolwethu Zungula, hosted its political manifesto rally this past weekend at the Soweto amphitheatre in Jabulani, and Zungula pledged real change to the country should the party win at this year’s elections.
Zungula promised to provide quality public healthcare in the country, saying people relying on public healthcare should receive the same quality of services as those getting services from the private sector, EWN reported.
“We have a problem of fake foods that are killing our children. People in our country are being poisoned deliberately, that is why we are saying let the government employ all environmental health practitioners.”
Political analyst Professor Andre Duvenhage says the ATM has shown to be radical with their policies on major issues. Duvenhage, however, says it is a small party and might not get one seat in parliament in the upcoming elections.

According to SABC News, ATM also promised to address other key issues such as unemployment, quality education and social grants.
“Under the ATM government, we are going to ensure that there’s local production of basic goods. We can’t be importing soap, and toothpicks to the extent that everything we eat, and wear is made in other countries. SA will not be Made in China country. Under ATM most products will be made in SA that is how you create jobs, you build factories, and manufacture in that country to create jobs.” Zungula said, hoping to create more basic job opportunities to South Africans.
