Johannesburg — ActionSA said Funzi Ngobeni has been announced as the party’s Gauteng premier candidate ahead of the 2024 national and provincial elections.
ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba, announced Ngobeni as the face to lead the party ahead of their political campaign. Ngobeni has a proven political track record and served as a DA councillor in the City of Johannesburg. He was the DA’s candidate to substitute Mashaba who was the city mayor in 2019.and then later joined ActionSA, IOL reported.
Ngobeni said ActionSA’s objective was to strengthen and tighten the loopholes to create zero tolerance for corruption, with the party unapologetic regarding the necessity to remove the ANC from power. He said ActionSA woild take back control of the province’s neglected economic infrastructure, as well as fix provincially-run traffic lights, road markings as well as signs.

According to Daily Maverick, Ngobeni joins a strong list of candidates for the Gauteng premier post. He joins strong contenders for the premiership, including the incumbent, Panyaza Lesufi of the ANC, the DA’s Solly Msimanga, the EFF’s Mbuyiseni Ndlozi and Rise Mzansi’s Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, among others fighting to keep the ANC out of power in the country’s economic hub.
Gauteng is home to more than 15 million people and contributes about 40% to the country’s GDP. It is however besieged by deteriorating basic services including water and electricity as well as high unemployment, violent crime and crumbling infrastructure.
Our Premier Candidate for Gauteng is @Funzi_Ngobeni.
Ngobeni is a capable and ethical leader who has the qualities, experience and willpower to unlock Gauteng’s full potential and create a thriving, prosperous future for all its residents.
