Cape Town – Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has announced its readiness to welcome foreign heads of state at OR Tambo International Airport for the Presidential Inauguration.
ACSA Regional General Manager Jabulani Khambule said that in collaboration with the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, ACSA will greet the dignitaries with a national ceremonial guard and ceremonial dancers.
He confirmed that all logistics and security measures are in place, supported by a multi-stakeholder approach involving various law enforcement agencies.
“I can confirm that ACSA is ready to not only handle the pressure and logistics for the arrival of foreign heads of state to the country but also to ensure that all necessary security checks and measures are in place for the arrival of these dignitaries,” Khambule said.
He added: “A multi-stakeholder approach involving various law enforcement agencies has been put in place to activate the additional security measures required at the airport, as has been successfully implemented in the past whenever we’ve welcomed heads of state.”
Travellers should expect limited airport access due to road closures and increased police presence this week
