Cape Town – EFF MP Carl Niehaus has criticised Mzwanele Manyi’s choice to abandon the red berets after just a year of membership, in favor of joining the MK Party.
Niehaus, who is a strong supporter of Julius Malema and the EFF, expressed disappointment over Manyi’s decision, accusing him of lacking integrity and not showing gratitude for the EFF’s support, Times Live reported.
“Manyi’s conduct lacks integrity. At a difficult time in his life, Malema accepted him and embraced him in the EFF and was good to him. This is not a way to say ‘thank you’. Manyi was received by the EFF, he was given a warm welcome. I think it’s a bit uncool for him to leave so soon after he joined and was appointed to parliament to now be jumping ship,” the report quoted Niehaus as saying.
Manyi stepped down from the EFF earlier this week, just months after being sworn in as an EFF MP in June.
@MzwaneleManyi I am sad to say this, but I have to say it: Your conduct lacks integrity. At a difficult time in your life the #CommanderInChief, @Julius_S_Malema, accepted you, embraced you in the @EFFSouthAfrica, and was good to you. This is not the way to say thank you. https://t.co/OkQy5Y8w20
